We were approached by local residents and groups concerned about the activities of Urban & Civic and Cambridgeshire County Council Highways to transform the Mere Way ancient trackway, which was part of the Roman road known as Akeman Street, into a form of ‘green lane’ for cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders.

We have now reviewed the situation and we have contacted the Chief Executive Officer and a number of councilors at Cambridgeshire County Council to express our concerns and ask for a number of questions to be answered: you can read more in our position paper.
