Report from the 2024 AGM

Alan and Branch President Christopher

Alan and Branch President Christoper Vane Percy

Our 2024 AGM – our first in-person for five years – was held on 14th November at St Ives Corn Exchange.  We had a good turn-out of members and visitors alike, and it was good to see a mixture of old and new faces! We were sorry to say goodbye to Alan James (Chair), Nick de Chenu (Treasurer) and Jane Williams (Vice-Chair), who stood down from the committee, although we are pleased to report that Alan and Jane will continue to volunteer for the branch.  We were delighted to welcome our new Treasurer, Sue Duma, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.

Our guest speaker was local farmer and Hunts Post columnist Anne-Marie, whose talk "Don’t explain, don’t complain” was about the challenges farmers are facing.  An interesting discussion followed!  Our grateful thanks to Alan, Jane and Nick for all their support and hard work, and a warm welcome to Sue.  Our raffle was a great success – our thanks to Morrisons St Ives, Toms Cakes, Co-op St Ives, Co-op Godmanchester, Townrow St Ives, Just Card, St Ives,  Notcutts Garden Centre Brampton, Aldi St Ives and all those who kindly donated prizes.
