As the East of England goes into prolonged dry weather status and neighbouring parts of the country are in drought, we are again sharing ways in which we can all save water. The National Drought Group (NDG) met on 15th July. The NDG reports that the situation has deteriorated since they last met (5th June); dry weather continues to impact water resources across England. Across England, rainfall was 20% less than the long-term average for June. June was also the hottest on record for England, with two heatwaves driving unusually high demand for water. Reservoir levels continue to fall. Water companies are required to take action to manage demand and the public are urged to use water wisely. You can read the press release here.
