How We Work

There are over 40 CPRE branches throughout England, all but two (Durham and Northumberland) being independent charities.

Our Patron is Queen Elizabeth II and many well-known people have taken on the role of President, including in recent years:

  • David Puttnam, Baron Puttnam 1985-1992
  • Jonathan Dimbleby 1992-1997
  • Prunella Scales 1997-2002
  • Sir Max Hastings 2002-2007
  • Bill Bryson 2007-2012
  • Andrew Motion 2012-2016 & current vice-president
  • Emma Bridgewater CBE 2016-current

Each branch has a Board of Trustees, and a Chairman. Most have at least one paid staff member, but all rely heavily on volunteers for many of their activities.

CPRE has a national office in London and branches in every county. We are the branch for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough unitary authority.

Our officers and trustees are the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, and members elected at the Annual General Meeting.

The committee meets every two months. The committee meetings are also attended by members who have a particular expertise.

The branch shares an office with the CPRE East of England Regional Group.

Due to COVID-19, our office remains closed. Please contact us by email where possible.
